Kensho Kickboxing
KIckboxing is an awesome, fun workout that will get you in shape in a hurry and keep you motivated. These days though, it seems that the term Kickboxing is often used synonymously with cardio or fitness kickboxing classes. 

Boxing and Kickboxing are actually both martial arts and combat sports. Much like tennis, snow skiing or any other sport, it looks really easy when we see someone doing it who knows how. When we try it ourselves, we find out that if we expect to get much out of it we're going to need to learn how to do it properly. No one is born knowing how to punch and kick. We all start as beginners. 

Kensho's comprehensive boxing and kickboxing curriculum been continually developed and refined to build our student's skills quickly. In our beginning Level classes, you'll do a lot of fun partner drills that are specifically designed to develop your skills in a hurry. After just a few classes, you'll know how to move & be able to use it if you need t0. 

You'll find Kensho's instructors and students to be friendly, and welcoming. Classes are challenging, but huge fun for beginner or seasoned martial artist alike. We train seriously, but always keep it fun! The difference is that at Kensho we have the experience and our time tested step by step curriculum to help get you started on the right foot and bring you all the way to black belt level. 

You begin with a 30 minute Personal Training session to show you a few basics and get you started on the right foot. You'll be having fun & getting an awesome workout from day 1, but at the same time you'll be developing the solid technique and form to train safely and take your fitness to the next level. 

We teach you moves from different styles of kickboxing including K-1, Thai Boxing (Muay Thai), French Savate, and more.  You won’t be fighting in class, but it is nice to know you're training with people who have helped students to become champion Boxers and Kickboxers! You don't have to be a fighter to learn to throw knockout punches & kicks, but you will need to get in fighting shape.

Yes, fitness kickboxing is all the rage, but the secret to long term results is learning to do it right.  When you see someone stick with a sport or activity over time, it's because they embrace the process of learning to master it. Yes, you'll be burning fat & getting strong, but down the road, you'll have developed awesome self defense skills that will last a lifetime and the confidence that goes along with it.

Our MYZONE heart rate zone training system keeps you working at your optimum level for maximum results in minimum time. You can accurately measure your progress as your fitness increases.

The MYZONE physical activity monitoring system measures your performance in real time during class and tracks your workouts to measure progress. Every month we have a fun “Challenge” to help keep us all working to be our best.

Kensho Mixed Martial Arts
The idea behind Kensho’s Mixed Martial Arts curriculum is to be ready for any situation and able to flow easily from kicking range to punching range to trapping/knee/elbow range into grappling range; with a weapon or without. This is similar to Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do (JKD) concepts. 

Kensho's Mixed Martial Arts Curriculum begins with Boxing and Kickboxing. Here we begin to develop our movement and physical conditioning for strength, flexibility, speed and timing. We then build on our basics adding Muay Thai, JKD and Savate along with weapon techniques from Kali and Filipino martial arts. As we progress, techniques begin to flow together seamlessly. 

Over the years we've developed an awesome curriculum and training methods to help you learn to train safely with high intensity. Don't worry, you won't have to fight with anyone. We're all working together to help each other to be our best. You'll find yourself high fiving all your training partners after class and heading out the door already anxious to come back for your next class!

Training in our Boxing, Kickboxing, Savate, Muay Thai, Kali/Eskrima and Jun Fan/Jeet Kune Do curriculums independently, we preserve the culture and origins of each art and are able to absorb the essence of each. Students can earn ranks through instructor level in each of our root arts as they progress.
